NIGHT JUMPS ON

Skydive NM will host night jumps on December 2, 2006 AD.
Planned start time for 1st load is 7:00 pm. Jumpers will
need a USPA 'B' license qualification or higher.
Strobe light and illuminated altimeter are mandatory.
Participants are encouraged to make at least one jump during
daylight hours to ensure currency.

RATINGS AT SNM

Congratulations to Elijah Combest and
Kelly Wilson on becoming our newest AFF instructors. After a
grueling course with World Record Holder Jay Stokes, each of
these gentlemen earned the title of AFF Instructor last
weekend.
In addition to the AFF Instructor certification course,
Elijah Combest, Ken Mascarenas, Allen Welch, Lee Norris, Ron
Weagley all participated in the IAD (Instructor Aided
Deployment) certification course and will be able to
implement this teaching practice to our Static Line method
of teaching skydiving.

WELCOME BACK KRISHAN!

After a brief escape to Skydive
Arizona and the Phoenix area, Krishan and his wife have
moved back to NM!. Krishan was sorely missed and will be
soon jumping right back into Video duties for tandems and
AFF as well as doing coaching. Welcome back Krishan!
SNM HAS A NEW TANDEM INSTRUCTOR

jumper and instructor Adam Buckner on completing his Tandem
Certification Course at Mile Hi Skydiving! A very
experienced jumper, he now adds his expertise to making
tandem jumps with students as well as doing AFF instruction
& video.
SNM INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF MEETING

Staff meeting for Skydive New Mexico Instructors/coaches
and BOD members is set for Thursday, April 27th, 2006 AD,
starting at 1800 hrs. (6pm for all you non-military types)
Maximum duration will be 2 hours.

SNM TO HOST COACH COURSE FOR INTERESTED APPLICANTS

SNM Instructional staff will conduct a Coach
Certification Course on the weekend of May 6th and 7th, 2006
AD. Prospective candidates will need to own a copy of the
SIM and IRM no older than 2 years at time of course. There
are prerequisite signoffs on the Coach proficiency card
which can be found on USPA's website or in the IRM.
Instructors are at the DZ every weekend willing to assist in
getting the candidates prepared for the program and all
licensed jumpers possessing the minimum qualifications are
encouraged to attend.
SAFETY
DAY 2006 IS MARCH 18th!!! BE THERE!

This year, Skydive New Mexico will host its Safety Day
activities on March 18, 2006 AD. All licensed members will
be required to attend for review and practice of their
emergency procedures. Additional topics will include:
spotting, canopy piloting, emergency medicine, and gear
inspection.
ALSO, plans are on the way to have the annual Board of
Directors elections at the same time. Stay tuned for
details.
