NOTICE: Skydiving
is a very physical activity, so if you are not in good
physical condition, you may not want to skydive. It
requires strength, very good flexibility, and the
ability to bend, fall, and roll on the ground if
necessary. Also, we require a MINIMUM of one week
advance scheduling.
Static Line Course
An old and time
honored method of training first-time and novice skydivers
takes the student through a gradual progression of the
basics. The initial training takes 5 to 6 hours of intense
classroom and practical application covering all aspects of
aircraft procedures, exit and parachute deployment, flying
and landing the parachute, and handling emergency
situations. This is the "do it yourself" method.
When ready, the student,
under supervision of a Jumpmaster, will gear up, be
airlifted to altitude, launch from the aircraft and after
the main parachute is deployed via the static line, fly it
to the landing area 3500 feet below, and land it safely by
his or herself. The descent is supervised via ground to
jumper radio communications to assist the student to make a
safe, on target landing.
For those interested in
pursuing the sport beyond the first-time, the static line
training method offers a progressive learning experience
leading to a freefall and the basic sport skydiving license.
Static Line progression up to your first free fall with a
live rip cord will take a minimum of 5 jumps. Advancement is
based solely on each individual jumpers' performance on each
jump they make through the progression.

During The
Day...
One more thing .
. . there is a wonderful café at the airport,
Carolina's Café . Open from
8am to 2pm, serving both breakfast and lunch fare. Great
food, and during the day while you're with us, depending on
when we can actually get you in the air, you may have some
down time and be hungry before you go for your tandem. This
would be a wonderful place to get it, without heading back
into Belen, as well as help support another business at the
airport. |
