So, you might
be wondering "Whuffo you jump out
of that there perfectly good airplane?"
Our answer:
Why Not!
Skydiving may have been
started with the military as a means to transport troops and
supplies to remote areas quickly, but from that, it
developed into a worldwide sport. It is probably the closest
any human can come to actually flying without the aid of
anything mechanical, and for some people, the need for speed
and the ultimate rush can not be fulfilled without jumping.
Does that mean that you
have to be an adrenaline junkie to skydive? Absolutely not.
Skydiving not only provides a good way to exercise, but is a
great form of camaraderie and friendship between you and
other skydivers. It's like an unofficial, world-wide
fraternity, and no matter where you're from, what language
you speak, what deity you worship (or not at all), all
skydivers around the world have a common bond. They have
done and experienced something that most people haven't, and
there's a certain twinkle in each and every one of their
eyes, because they KNOW what it's like to soar with the
angels.
So, you may
be saying, "I'm afraid of heights. I can't skydive!"
That's not true. The
feeling of vertigo that you experience at the top of a
building is not there when you jump. Why? Because you don't
have a frame of reference. Have you ever been to 12,500 ft
above the earth? AND looked down at it without being safe
inside a 747?
Of course, if you're afraid
to fly, skydiving might not be for you. And any skydiver
will admit, it's not for everyone. Like any other sport, you
do have to like and want to do it, or it's not worth it.
But, if you haven't tried it before, why not give us a call
and set up your first tandem jump. It'll give you a great
experience in skydiving, in a very controlled and safe
environment, and then you can make up your mind. You owe it
to yourself to try it first.
And trust
me, it'll be worth it! See ya at the DZ!
